Rare Nest is a small, occasional, and imperfect recording studio operated by me, Ian Schaefer, along with the complicity of a few friends and colleagues, mostly in Lancaster and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
It is not a professional operation. Most of the work has been for our own bands or for other local musician friends who’ve asked for our help on projects over the last decade or so. I’m proud of the wide range of music we’ve helped produce—all because someone trusts us, our ears, or our gear.
